Bio: Formed in early 2004, 5th gear has played throughout Southern Florida building a healthy grassroots fan base and international following at hot spots such as the Clevelander Hotel in South Beach Miami and Blue Martini in West Palm Beach. 5th Gear’s resume includes
airplay of their songs Crumble and Long Day on local top rated radio
station 103.1 “the buzz” In July 2006,
the band played the Thirsty Melon Music Festival in Louisville Kentucky,
which was held inside Six Flags playing to several thousand people
throughout the day. In January of 2007 the band shared the stage with Jimi
Van Zandt and Georgia Satellites at the South Florida BBQ Festival playing
to over 1000 BBQ and music fans. Also in 2007 the band played to over 500
people at the Clevelander Hotel for their pre Super Bowl Party that the
city of Miami was hosting. Preferring live gigs to studios, 5th Gear has been honing their stage and performace skills playing 4 nights a week doing covers ranging from Bob Marley to the mighty Zepplin. But their originals are just as powerful. In fact their first full length CD, Waiting For A Sign, is now available. This new material is broadcast quality and radio ready, having been mixed and mastered in Miami by Michael Fuller, who has credits with such national acts as Allman Brothers, Lynard Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Seven Mary Three and Nonpoint to name a few. The band successfully sells their CD's at live shows but also are successful through Internet sales from sites such as Cdbaby.com and downloads through Apple iTunes, iTunes Europe, iTunes Japan, Napster, MusicNet, MusicNow, Tradebit, Rhapsody and several other popular download sites. As far as the future is concerned
for 5th Gear, they’re now focusing on landing gigs with new venues
throughout the country, and hopefully opening for some giant acts later
this year. |
